Printed Circuit Board Assembly

Emin offers kitted, partial turn-key and full turn-key PCB assembly. Kitted is the most basic service, meaning the customer provides all the parts, including bare boards to Emin. Partial turn-key is a service where the customer provides some of the parts needed and Emin procures the remaining parts at the most affordable price from our local suppliers. As for full turn-key service, Emin can fabricate PCBs and assemble all the parts that you need on the PCBs. We will procure all the parts locally, so customers just need to provide us the bill of material(BOM) and Gerber file.

Emin stands out from other PCB contract manufacturers because of its excellent capabilities and superior quality in PCB assembly. With our many years of experience in PCB manufacturing, we know how important the details can be. Leveraging the most suitable equipment, employing clever techniques during assembly, and producing thousands of different types of custom designed PCB’s while maintaining top quality is something that we have been doing for a long time.

Emin has a complete set of high tech, top of the line equipment to deal with every kind of need related to PCB assembly. The equipment is well-designed to perform the maximum number of capabilities, at the highest productivity, ensuring the best quality. Our production and quality inspection equipment is very modern and most of them are highly automated so that their performance is consistent and the quality is easy to control. This effectively avoids the risk of the inconsistency and careless mistakes caused by manual labor. Also, Our latest-generation machines and state-of-the-art equipment enable us to accelerate PCB assembly projects swiftly, so that we can reduce the time to market for customers, which also helps us meet a variety of needs in the dynamic electronics industry.

We use several pick-and-place machines to suit a wide range of PCB assembly types, such as; high volume, very small size and very large size PCB assembly, high density and high accuracy required PCB assemblies, smallest packages assembly like 0201, 01005 passive components to meet most demanding requirements from the dynamic electronic product design and market.

Regarding our automated quality control system, we assume automated inspection is ideal to really get the best possible results for surface mount technology, in terms of quality and cost. We are equipped with post-printing SPI(solder paste inspection) set in-line with SMT production line to ensure the quality of solder that is printed by our automated solder printer. We start every  new project by performing pre-reflow AOI(automated optical inspection) to ensure components are populated correctly and appropriately for the first articles, because we believe the sooner a defect is detected, the lower the repair costs will be. After reflow, we perform post-reflow AOI to thoroughly inspect each PCB assembly, guaranteeing quality for each assembled PCB. For ball grid array(BGA) components, we perform 3D X-Ray inspection to confirm the quality, and we use BGA rework stations to repair failed ones.

We have options for through hole assembly, we provide wave soldering, selective wave soldering and hand assembly to suit different types of components based on different quantities. For prototypes and small quantities, customers can save cost if using hand assembly or selective wave soldering because there is no need for wave solder pallets for double sided PCB assemblies. To save cost for the production stage, wave soldering is the best choice because of its high productivity. For the projects that require higher quality standards in through holes, selective wave soldering is probably the best choice. Practically, we will make the right decision when we get the gerber file and bill of materials(BOM), before we submit our quote to customers. If you have preference in using single or mixture of these three kinds, we will follow your requirements.

We can provide lead-free and leaded PCB assembly processes. Nowadays, most electronic products are Pb-free(Lead free) due to environmental concerns, but sometimes we still get a few products that require lead, so we keep leaded PCB assembly service as a favor for those who prefer leaded products for their specific purposes and uses. We separate our lead-free and leaded assembly lines which is the best way to prevent these two kinds of different solders from becoming contaminated with each other during the assembly process.

Another mentionable advantage is that Emin also provides water wash PCB assemblies for specific high end products. We offer both No-clean and water soluble solder paste to assemble PCBs and components. As a matter of fact, it’s not easy to find PCB assemblers that still offer water wash PCB assembly service. Most contract PCB assemblers use No-clean solder paste only due to its high productivity and convenience, as well as it being the most important factor for customers; low cost. No-clean saves customers a lot of time, and of course, time equals money. Emin understands that only a small portion of customers want their PCB assemblies to be thoroughly cleaned, but to respect the small demands from a certain number of customers, we keep our water wash PCB assembly system to serve the customers in order to earn satisfaction and loyalty from them, and we are happy to stand by their satisfaction and success.

During the quality control process, all PCB assemblies are 100% inspected and tested in the following manner: visual inspection under magnification, automated optical inspection, in-circuit testing and functional testing to ensure all the PCB assemblies supplied by Emin are quality guaranteed.

Throughout the PCB assembly process, we diligently practice IQC (incoming quality control), IPQC (in-process quality control) for halfway finished products, and for the finished products, we perform FQC (final quality control) and OQC (outgoing quality control) completely.

Our default quality standard for PCB assembly is IPC-610 class 2. All assemblies supplied by Emin comply with IPC- 610A class 2. If you have any additional requirements or preferences for your products, we are flexible and happy to adapt to your needs. We are also able to achieve IPC-610A class 3 as long as you specify it clearly in the documentation beforehand.
